On Sunday, the people of Manchester flocked to the city centre to see what Manchester Day had in store this year. The parade started at 1pm leaving Liverpool Road before it weaved its way through the city centre to finish in Exchange Square at about 2.30pm. The parade itself was around one mile long and took up to an hour to pass.
This year’s theme was EUREKA! which took everyone on an adventure of wonder, invention and curiosity as we celebrated Manchester’s achievements in the world of science. The parade was a spectacular display of floats, dancers, musicians, flags and colourful and creative costumes all demonstrating everyone’s interpretation of the theme.
Many different cultural groups, music and dance styles, reading, science, history and space were celebrated in this fun, family day out in Manchester.
I would definitely recommend to anyone in the North West region to check it out next year, I know I will!
